Abacussuanpan · 2 & 5 beads

LEVEL 1
SCORE 0 · STREAK 0

Modeled on a 13-rod suanpan like yours — two beads above the bar, five below. Scroll the frame sideways if you need the higher rods.

How to read the beads
Each rod is one place value, reading left to right toward the ones rod on the far right.

Heaven beads (top, 2 per rod): each worth 5 when pushed down to touch the bar.
Earth beads (bottom, 5 per rod): each worth 1 when pushed up to touch the bar.

For ordinary counting you only ever need one heaven bead and four earth beads per rod (0–9). The extra heaven and earth bead are spares — older Chinese counting used them for non-decimal units, and they come in handy for juggling carries mid-calculation.
